Have to agree with the raves here re: DP31. Normally I'm not a big fan of cutting up two shows, but this release does a good enough job. Yeah, that Playin' and the crazy decontruction of the WRS Jam is worth everything. You can find and fit Lagin's math-nerd-cool Seastones from one of the AUDs here somewheres on your playlist, or however you do it.

this show comprises some of disc 1 and all of disc 2 of dick's picks 31. the selections from this show are defiantly choice. the playin', while not the best of '74, is very good, and the loose lucy, wharf rat, and even casey jones are great. the Weather Report Suite is also a favorite, even if bobby muffs the intro just slightly...this whole run of 8/4-8/6 is some of the best music you'll find in the year. very worth owning.

Dicks 31 starts with Playin, and im pretty sure its from this night, the 4th. Well, ill just say that Track 1 of DP#31 is worth the purchase itself, ive had the discs for over three weeks now and i still havent got past track #1. Cheers!

Subject: Philly's Finest!
This show has a number of highlights, none better than WRS/Let it Grow and the ensuing jam. Keith rises to the occasion and plays perfectly off Jerry. We get a nice meltdown for 10 min and after multiple grooves we reach Wharf Rat.
The Scarlet and Playin are also top notch. Playin clocks in at over 25 min .......but who's counting!
